I ordered these from a thrird party seller… ended up averaging $28 total with shipping for the Bee and Panda each… WELL WORTH IT! I have been wanting to get these for a while for my three children, and finally took the dive when my husband was deployed in September. Justifying $90 in pillow pets was hard, but my kids are in love! The are sewn so well. The fur does not come off on anything, no issues at all. The ladybug was on backorder for quite a while (it’s on it’s way now) but in the meantime I was at one of the local supercenters (the bullseye one…) and I saw that they now carry the Pillow Pets… For only twenty dollars. As I was contemplating getting the ladybug for my daughter (since it was on backorder on amazon) the red fur was just leaving all kinds of lint on her blanket… and if I pinched it a little and pulled I could get a whole clump out! I knew that they had to be knock-offs or lower quality at least. I was right! The originals are called “MY PILLOW PETS” with the tag stitched on the pet on one of the feet. The ones at the supercenter stores are called “PILLOW PETS” with the same tag stitched on. I think they are manufactured by the same company, but DON’T BE FOOLED! They are cheaper quality.

And as far as the Bumble Bee antenae falling off… that reviewer must have gotten a knock off! Mine are compltely sewn on ALL THE WAY AROUND THE BALL! There is NO way it will fall off, unless you used a seam ripper! This is highly stuffed, very soft, HIGH quality! Even the wings are fluffy and dense! LOVE IT! I can’t wait to get our ladybug!

These are truly great toys, and kids can’t seem to get enough of them. So why is my rating of the product so low? It is because the toy was represented by the seller as the original product when it was really just a cheap knock off. This is a VENDOR ISSUE.

After reading the online reviews on “(My)Pillow Pets” I learned that there in a big difference between “My Pillow Pets” and “Pillow Pets”. For anyone who isn’t up to date with this, here is what I’ve learned. The true original toy is called “My Pillow Pets”. The knock off versions, which are widely regarded as not being as well made or as durable as the original toy, are called “Pillow Pets”. Except for the word “My” the two names and their logos are identical. After learning this via the online reviews, I carefully searched Amazon for two “My Pillow Pets”. I chose two different toys 1)a panda bear sold by “Trend Marketing” and 2)a horse sold by “Snuggle Zoo Shoppe”.

Both toys arrived the same day. When I took the two toys out the difference in quality was apparent immediately. I had no complaints with the horse, but the pillow portion of the panda bear was noticeably lumpy and small clumps of its fur came off when I ran my hand along the toy. Again, the horse had none of these issues. Disappointed, I looked at the back foot of each toy. The original toy is supposed to have a tag sewn on the back foot that reads “My Pillow Pets”. Both toys had tags sewn to one of the back feet. They were identical in design except that the tag on the panda read “Pillow Pets” while the tag on the horse read “My Pillow Pets”. Both toys are listed as “My Pillow Pets” by their respective vendors. Upon further inspection I looked at the loose tag on the panda, the one fastened on with one of those little plastic t-bars. The manufacturers tag read “Pillow Pets”, but a black and white sticker reading “My Pillow Pets” had been placed over the original manufacturers tag.

Disappointed that the time I spent trying to avoid a knock off didn’t pay off, I decided to return the item. Not a problem, except for the fact that Amazon charges you just over $5 in return shipping. I am hoping we can get this credited back to us, as the toy was misrepresented by “Trend Marketing”.

To make a long story short, I ended up ordering the panda from the “My Pillow Pets” website. It was a few bucks more, but worth the knowledge that this wasn’t likely to happen again. The new toy has since arrived and is much better in quality. It’s really sad that such a great idea has turned into what I’m sure has been a very profitable scam.

One last thing. If you search for “My Pillow Pets” online and miss the “My”, you will likely end up on the website of the knock off toys. The websites are very similar. To make matters more confusing, the knock off website also states that its toys are, “The Original Pillow Pets…..as seen on TV”. Buyers beware. What you see from the various vendors on Amazon, may not be what you get when it comes to “My Pillow Pets”. Specifically “BOO” to “Trend Marketing”. My 4 year old granddaughter had her heart set on a Panda pillow pet. I was traveling to see her soon, there were no pandas to be found where I live so I checked Amazon. I was able to place my order, the delivery was very quick, the panda arrived in perfect condition and she was a huge hit with my granddaughter. The covering of the panda is very soft and thick. When folded the panda makes a great animal to ride on if you are four years old. Unfolded the panda makes a very soft and cushy pillow. This was a great purchase, the seller provided excellent service. I would get another pillow pet from this seller again.

I have to agree with the previous review! We purchased 3 different Pillow Pets last year through the official website. The tags say “My Pillow Pet” These things have held up through everything! my kids carry them everywhere, even play with them outside. They’ve been washed multiple times and look as good as new. So this year we decided to buy 3 more when we found them at Walmart. We gave them to the kids for Christmas, and just days later they are falling apart. They are coming apart at the seam, and like the other reviewer said, if you pull on the fur it will come out. After some comparing of the old and the new, we found that the new ones say “Pillow Pet” on the tag instead of “My Pillow Pet”. The official website will tell you that they are both authentic, but trust me, they are not of the same quality! The ones we bought at Walmart are not even worth $5 in my opinion.

Why on earth would you buy your child a stuffed animal designed to be used as a pillow that you cannot wash? I could SWEAR they show it going in the wash (or coming out of the dryer?) in the TV ad. But the tag says “surface wash only,” which is a joke. And don’t bother contacting the company. They will lie through their teeth to your about their products, if you can get them to respond at all. This is such a cute product. Such a shame you can’t wash it. Imagine never washing your child’s pillowcase. That’s what this will be like, only worse, because the child will also be taking this everywhere as a stuffed animal/friend. The #1 thing this toy MUST be is machine washable, and it is not. YUCK.

I bought two of the Comfy Panda My Pillow Pets, one for my co-worker’s grandson who is five years old, and one for myself since I’ve collected panda items since I was a little girl. One of my lifelong dreams is to see a real panda in its natural habitat in person. Maybe someday. Anyways, I love animals, and these pillow pets make great gifts for those who love animals. My co-worker had an early Christmas gathering this past weekend, and gave the panda pillow pet I bought to her grandson. She said that her grandson was so thrilled and excited when he opened the gift and showed off the panda to everyone at the gathering. She said that same night during bedtime, he put the panda pillow pet with his dog pillow pet that he received months before from a relative. I also bought a Unicorn My Pillow Pet for his younger sister, who was born this year. My co-worker’s grandson is such a good older brother already that he was excited as well that I bought the unicorn for his younger sister that he happily showed the toy off to everybody. I bought the Dolphin My Pillow Pet for another co-worker’s nephew and gave it to him in person. I love children, and I enjoy making children smile. When it comes to buying toys for children, I love buying toys that are multi-functional or that will be put to good use. These My Pillow Pets are multi-functional. They’re soft and nice for both adults and children to hug and cuddle at night. They make good traveling companions. They’re good for both naptime and bedtime. They make cute decorations for the bed. And the Velcro strap comes with a fabric flap to cover the Velcro when you make the pillow pet flat for naps or sleeptime. I really think that the price is reasonable when you consider that these toys provide buddy-like, security comfort for children, that they are portable and light for children or adults to travel in a car, that they make good pillows, etc. I really don’t think you can lose by buying these My Pillow Pets as a gift for most people.

I gave this to my girlfriend as part of her birthday gift. She loved it and sleeps with it at night. Her little sister also loves it and steals it from her to play with. Good gift. It’s soft and makes for a great pillow

I gave this to one of my friends for her birthday and she loved it. Not to mention that we aren’t any where near the kid target audience for this product. While it was at my house, all of my older sisters played with it before I gave it to my friend.

We ordered this as a Christmas gift for our niece who asked for this specifically. We are sure it will be a hit with her and so will we!!!
